Description:
Coloured lithograph, comic map depicting Ireland, represented by the figures of a "naturally graceful" Irish woman wearing a colourful turquoise bonnet, a wicker basket strapped over her shoulder and a young child holding a small fish on her back. One of twelve comic maps taken from 'Geographical fun', the work of Eliza Jane Lancaster (later known as Lilian Lancaster). Includes description of the comic figure of Ireland and descriptive lines by William Harvey (known as Aleph). Rhyme about the country in lower margin of the map: Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, Lith. London, W. C. Includes illustrations of the Royal standard and the Royal coat of arms. Not drawn to scale.
