Description:
Nottinghamshire. Monochrome map which, though quite plain, details places, rivers and forests. Significant buildings and forested areas are illustrated by small drawings. Approximately one third of the map is taken up with an inset map of Nottingham with a key to significant places and a 'Scale of Perches'. North, South, East and West are indicated on the main map and there is a scale bar of 'English miles'. A paragraph gives statistical data relating to Nottingham and notes the difference between 'post' and 'cross' roads (single and double lines respectively). The ornate cartouche, bottom left gives the title and the inscription: 'Printed and sold by H. Overton at ye White Horse without Newgate London'.
