Description:
Hampshire. Hand coloured with large title (top left). Very rich detail includes roads and place names. Each area is shaded a different colour with longitude and latitude angles marked. The large title (top left) is decorated with pictures of people working at land and sea. Around the map are paragraphs giving statistical and historical data about the area. An 'Explanation' or key is provided bottom left. The dedication on the right says: 'To the most Noble Charles Paulet, Duke of Bolton, Knight of the Garter, Lord lieutenant and Custos Rotulorum for the county of Southampton, this map is dedicated by his Grace's most obedt. servent Tho. Kitchin'. Printed along the bottom is: 'Printed for R Sayer at the Golden Buck in Fleet Street, T Bowles in St Pauls Church Yard, John Bowles & Son in Cornhill.'
