Description:
Gloucestershire. Top left corner of total map showing Gloucestershire where it borders with Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Hand coloured with large title (top left). Very rich detail includes roads and place names. Each area is shaded a different colour and the map has a brown edging with longitude and latitude angles marked. Printed at the top is 'Longitude West from Greenwich'. The left hand edge of a compass rose is visible. The large title (top left) has the inscription underneath: ' Inscribed by Permission to his Grace the Duke of Beaufort KG, Lord Lieutenant and to the nobility, clergy and gentry of the County'. Beneath this is printed: 'London, published by A Bryant 27 Great Ormond Street, December 1st 1824'.
