The Reading Room of the John Rylands Library, viewed from the Gallery at the Deansgate (east) end, showing plywood building protection and internal scaffolding structure. Over ten miles of scaffolding has been erected inside and outside the building. Construction and restoration work is being undertaken by Linford Building Ltd, successors to the firm who worked on the original Library building in the 1890s.
