Description:
Photograph of the door in the Oak room at Red Lodge, Bristol. Through the doorway can be seen several young girls, one identified as Kitty, and Mary Carpenter (1807-1877). Red Lodge was used as a reform school for girls from 1854 by Mary Carpenter. Frances Power Cobbe (1822-1904) worked and lived at the school from 1858 to 1859.
