Description:
A Safavid-era scribe named Muḥammad Amīn bin ‘Abd Allāh completed this manuscript of Yūsuf va Zulaykhā by Jāmī (d. 1492), a mystical love story based on the biblical tale of Joseph and Potiphar's wife in 957 AH (1550–51 CE). It features a lavishly illuminated opening, three illustrations, immaculately copied nasta‘līq script text sprayed with gold, and the original lacquered binding with leather filigree doublures. However, a restorer subsequently reversed the boards so that the exteriors now fit the interiors, while what remains of the exteriors preserved inside.
