Description:
Thomas Macklin's Bible was published serially between 1791 and 1800. The full-page plates and headpiece and tailpiece vignettes were published by Macklin, and the text was printed for Macklin by Thomas Bensley. This volume contains the books of Job to Isaiah. The volume includes 12 headpiece (6) and tailpiece (6) vignettes designed by Philippe-Jacques de Loutherbourg, by various engravers; not all are dated, but it is likely that all were published between 10 March 1795 and 23 June 1796 (the dates of the headpiece of Job and tailpiece of Isaiah, respectively). There are no full-page plates in this volume.
