Description:
Thomas Macklin's Bible was published serially between 1791 and 1800. The full-page plates and headpiece and tailpiece vignettes were published by Macklin, and the text was printed for Macklin by Thomas Bensley. This volume contains the books of 1 Kings to Esther. The volume includes 4 full-page plates by various artists and engravers, published between 07 May 1791 and 25 November 1795; and 12 headpiece (7) and tailpiece (5) vignettes designed by Philippe-Jacques de Loutherbourg, by various engravers, and published between 12 September 1793 and 10 March 1795.
