Description:
Illustrated: half-length portrait of Hugh Latimer, Bishop of Worcester, 1485?-1555, wearing a cap, and holding a book: illustration to the 'Heroologia Anglica', 1620. It is likely that the engraving was done by Magdalena van de Passe, 1600-ca. 1638. On the facing page are lines from Scene II of 'The Two Gentlemen of Verona', by William Shakespeare, 1564-1616, and commentary by Samuel Johnson, 1709-1784; Thomas Holt White, 1724-1797; Edmond Malone, 1741-1812, and Isaac Reed, 1742-1807. An imprint of the engraving is clearly visible.
