Have you been served? A guide to the Race Relations Act for pubs, clubs and recreational services from the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE).
The aim of this CRE guide was to help licensees and organisations providing leisure services to comply with their obligations under the Race Relations Act 1976. The Act applies to the following organisations and individuals, both as employers and as providers of services to customers and the general public:
- Breweries, and owners, managers or tenants of public houses.
- Proprietors or operators of establishments such as nightclubs, discos or restaurants that are open to the public.
- Registered members' clubs with 25 or more members, such as sports clubs or working men's clubs.
