Unidentified late fifteenth- or early sixteenth-century Italian[?] coat of arms on a horse-head shield: azure, three escallops [defaced] argent (d'azzurro, a tre conchiglie[?] d'argento), above which are the manuscript initials "M IO" (in blue), with red curling lines and knotted ropework. The arms have been slightly painted over, and are thus later, than an earlier set of manuscript initials in brown ink: ".F. .T.".
