Description:
Eighteenth century[?] manuscript inscription in black ink at head of leaf: "Collegij Societatis Jesu Ratisponae" [i.e. the Jesuit College at Regensburg, in Germany]. Decoration: on leaf a 5-line initial 'I' in blue on a grey ground with red penwork, at foot of leaf a painted unidentified sixteenth-century[?] coat of arms: barry pily of six, sable and argent. The same arms appear in Lord Spencer's copy of Dio Chrysostom, 'De regno' ([Venice: Christophorus Valdarfer, not after 9 November 1471]), accession number 11568.
