Manuscript inscription at head of first front flyleaf recto: "In this copy, the tract of Theodorus de Mensibus, which should follow the Grammar, precedes it. There is no defect, and each Treatise beginning with a separate set of signatures, it does not signify which is placed first"; added below in pencil MS in another hand: "Bp. Butlers writing". Below a sales catalogue slip describing this copy: "1141 Gazæ (Theodori) Introductivæ Grammatices Libri quatuor, &c., yellow morocco, ruled, the Title-page repaired, Aldus, 1495". Slip of paper loose between front endpaper and first flyleaf, with handwritten inscription: "Greek grammar of Theod. Gaza / Printed by Aldus of Venice in 1495 / The second book printed by Aldus"; added below in a different hand: "Manutius".
