Incomplete letter from Susanna Wesley to Charles Wesley, urging him to set aside an hour each morning and evening for private devotion and not to allow himself to be distracted by other business, or the 'imputation of singularity, moroseness or ill- breeding'. On the reverse of the above is a note from Samuel Wesley senior, written in 'great pain and to little purpose', except to say that he loves his son.
