Description:
A hand-coloured daguerreotype portrait of a mother and daughter. Both are wearing dark dresses and are sat side by side, staring directly at the camera. The mother has a large white ruffled collar and the daughter wears her hair in ringlets and a necklace around her neck. The image is one of two; both images are set into a round gilt locket engraved on each side with decorative patterns, complete with a hanging ring.
