Description:
Albumen print of the exterior of Buildwas Abbey, Shropshire. Founded for the Savignac order in 1135, by Roger de Clinton, Bishop of Lichfield. Exterior view of the six arcades of the nave topped by a triforium. Above the triforium and to either side of the arcades, the abbey is ruined. Greenery is growing atop the triforium. Wooden fences and gate and a stone wall sit in front. A child is leaning on one of the gates, facing away. A grassed area and path lead to the nearest arcade.
