Albumen print of the exterior of a cottage in the village of Tarvin, Cheshire. Early 16th century farmhouse with parlour wing added on right. Now divided and known as Church Cottages and Church House respectively. Timber framed, much of the timber missing on the side of the parlour wing. The former farmhouse has a thatched roof with a single brick chimney stack. It has three windows to the front and one, maybe two, doors. The parlour wing roof is tiled with a double diamond chimney stack. It has two windows on the front and two on the side. There are two doors on the side, one of which has three stone steps leading to it from the street. The front is mostly covered in ivy. It has a brick extension at the rear. A low wooden fence fronts the whole building with a hedge behind it. A cobbled road passes in front and to the right. A gatepost, gate and boundary wall of St. Andrew’s church can partially be seen on the right.
