Description:
Albumen print of Bridge Street, Chester. A cobbled street runs in front of a row of three and four storey shops, hotels and business known as the Dutch houses. The first floor of each is a section of Chester Rows, covered walkways connecting the buildings. This is an open section on each building with railings and pillars. Two business names are visible: 'W. Robinson Feathers Hotel' and 'Richards City Clothing & Hat Man...' On the left of the road is a horse and cart with a pile of rubble in front of them. A street lamp with 'Bridge Street' on the glass is at the front of the image.
