Arts Library flood 11th May 1967. Taken from a position directly to the south of the central entrance in the libraries southern extension the shot is angled northwards and shows the rear of the fire engine which had been brought in to pump the water out of the building parked in front of the doorway with several hose pipes leading from it. To the east of the engine there are two figures in shirt sleeves and wellington boots while on the other side of the vehicle a fireman can be seen standing with his hands on his hips looking westward. There is a further figure strolling by on the extreme left of the image with his back towards the photographer while a shallow pool of water can be seen draining into a grid just to the rear of the engine.
