Description:
Black and White photograph of the exterior of the John Owens building. Taken at ground level from within the front quad just to the west of where the Whitworth Hall now stands, the shot is angled slightly to the northwest showing the two main entrances of the building and the Clock Tower. The shadow of the Christie building which lies out of picture can be seen in the left-hand side of the photograph. The northern side of the quad is at this stage occupied by a single storey Beyer building (shortly to be extended upwards).
