Black and white photograph of the exterior of the C.H. Reynolds garage (since demolished) on Oxford Road. Taken from a slightly elevated position within the Manchester Museum on the western side of Oxford Road, the shot is angled NE towards the two storey Reynolds garage building which stood on the opposite side of the road. Beyond this to the east can be seen Brookes artmetal and wirework factory, while to the south stands a building that housed the Gertrude Pryce typing bureau. To the north of the garage the rooftops of numerous rows of terraced buildings can be seen stretching off towards the city centre, all since demolished, mostly to accommodate the expansion of the University and UMIST.
