MacBook Pro Model A1398, used by journalists preparing stories based on the Snowden files. It once held copies of secret National Security Agency (NSA) files leaked to the Guardian by Edward Snowden. The computers were destroyed at Kings Place on the instructions of GCHQ. A variety of power tools were used, including an angle grinder and a degausser. (1) Destroyed black and grey logic board. (2) Macbook Pro case (bottom half). (3) Copper and black metal heat sink. (4) Right I/O board with 3 input holes. (5) Small black computer fan x 2. 2 x black 'L' shape plastic speakers each with a small wire coming out of the bottom. (6) 2 x black 'L' shape plastic speakers each with a small wire coming out of the bottom. (7) Severely damaged Solid State Hard Drive in three pieces. (8) Headphone jack with wire attached. (9) Black plastic battery holder, in 2 pieces. (10) Back piece of trackpad (trackpad itself missing). (11) Keyboard backlight layer.
