Dear Mr. Scott, Re – M. Phillips Price – His first contribution was in November 1912 and he wrote two or three more articles from Tibberton Court, Gloucester until the end of 1913 when he went abroad – to Persia, I think. In 1914 he sent us from there telegrams and articles regularly and was moving about during 1915, 16 & 17 and still contributing – when Dr. Soskice who was acting for us in Russia, returned, Phillips Price was there and on Nov.20 – 1917 he was appointed our Special Correspondent in Petrograd. He continued to act for us until July 1918 when he must have left Russia suddenly but he turned up again in Berlin in December 1918 and sent us more messages which we used – He ceased altogether Dec 31 – 1918. He was never on our staff and the amounts we sent him altogether were far exceeded by his contributions. We have never had a “settling up” with him. Yours very truly, E. Fielding.
