Hotel Angletera et Royal, (Pera?), Constantinople Dear Mr. Scott, Here are two contributions. I hope they are not too long. One deals with the effects of the war in that part of Thrace near *Adrianopoulis* that I have just visited, & the other is on general politics, as far as I have been able to gather information about them in the capital with special relation to Thrace. I have had interviews with the Grand Vizier, the Minister of Interior, the generals commanding the army in Thrace, several important newspaper editors, our consular representation, & some of the foreign embassy people, including of course our own. I like thinking I have been able to form as unprejudiced a judgement as is possible in this (home?) of intrigue and pre-conceived ideas. Now I am proposing to make a journey in Asia Minor. Having dealt with Thrace, I want to see the Asiatic (Rich?) & see what is going on there. I am leaving tomorrow by the Anatolian railway & shall stop at Konia on the way to Adana. In this part I shall see the German influence & shall write you an article about that in all probability. From Adana, I want – if I can, & if the weather will let me, to make a journey northwards onto Lesser Armenia, & see a little of the Armenians in their (southerly limits ?). Then I hope to go on to Aleppo & come back through Syria to Beirut. In all I can write you some 4 or 5 more articles, if you can bear with them, but I will cut them down as much as possible as I know you will not want much space taken up. My address for the next 14 days will be c/o British Consulate Adana. Could you send copies of the “Manchester Guardian” containing any articles of mine that come out to the following people:- The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Beauchamp, Madresfield, Malvern Link, Worcestershire. The Hon: A.M. Macdonnell, 3 Buckingham Gate, London SW. H.S. Chance Esq., Citizen Office, Gloucester. W.R. Price Esq., Pen Moel, Chepstow. C.Ln. Williams Esq., The Knoll, Tuffley, Gloucester. Major Samson, British Consulate, Adrianopoulis, Turkey. Lady Cunnyghame, Badgeworth Court, Gloucester. Mr. Edwin Walker, Tibberton Court, Gloucester. The Rt. Hon. Seyyid Ameer Ali, 41 Sloane Street, London SW. Mrs. Birchenough, 79 Eccleston Square, London SW. Yours sincerely, M. Philips Price P.S. I have found Mr. Frew very nice & pleasant & we have conversed a lot together, MPP.
