Since he had been driven from Naples he has heard nothing from Hamilton or had any mention of Count Palombo. He did not leave without having heard from General Acton [Sir John Francis Edward, sixth baronet (1736-1811), naval officer and administrator] that Palombo should have immediately on employment at Naples sufficient to give him & his family a competent subsistence'. Sir William Hamilton does not know what is going to become of him and he writes that he does not wish to return to Naples, at least not in a public capacity.
