Vellum roll depicting a chronological history from the creation to 15th century France. It contains 65 painted medallions. The first column relates to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians. The second column tells of the Syrians conquering part of Israel and the Babylonian Kings before the invasion of Cyrus the Persian. The third column relates the story of Romulus and Remus, the founding of Rome and the rape of the Sabine women. The fourth column tells how Brutus the Trojan founded the city of London. The medallions depict events from the text, including the founding of the cities of Sincambre (23) and Lutesse [Paris] (31), Sedechias (24), Nabuchodonosor [Nebuchadnezzar] (25), Samarie (26), Brutus conquering the native Britons (27), Romulus and Remus founding the city of Rome (28), the rape of the Sabine women (29), and the killing of Balthazar (30).
