And so it bifel at þ(t) time þ(t) S(ir) Rog(er) Mortym(er) erl of þe Marche was so p(ro)ut and so hautein þat he helde no lord of reaume his pere and þo bicome he so coueitous þ(t) he fol- wede dame Jsabelle þe Quenes Court þe kinges mooder Ed- ward and bifette his peny worthes w(t) þe officers of þ(e) Quenes householde in þe same manere as þe king(es) officers dede and so he made his takinges as touchinge vitailles and also of cariageȝ and al he did for enchesou(~) of spenseȝ and for to gadre tresour and so he dede w(t)oute nombr(e) in al þ(t) he myȝte. // þo made he him wonder p(ri)uee wiþ þe Quene .Js(abel). and so muche lordshipe and retenu had: so þ(t) alle þ(e) grete lord(es) of Engelond of him were adrad wherfore þe king and his counceile towardes him were agreuede and ordeignede a- mong(es) ham for to vndon him þorugh pure resoun and lawe for enchesou(~) þ(t) king Edward þat was þe king(es) fader traitoursly þorugh hi(~) w(a)s mordred i(~) þ(e) castel of Berkele as bifore is saide more plenerely in þe .
