Description:
Book one: Prologue to the Rule; beginning of the Chapters. The Exposition of the Prologue ends: 'Si autem eredes...amen deo gratias'. Below, in red capitals with a green initial, monogrammatised, is 'Incipiunt capitula monacorum, de generibus', then 'vel bictu monacorum' in red minuscule, followed by a list of the chapters of the Rule. The text is written in a Visigothic minuscule on lines ruled with dry point. There are 27 lines to a page. The text of the Rule is written in red or green ink. Coloured or decorated initials are sometimes used, particularly following extracts from the Rule and to denote the start of the chapters. These are, in many cases, drawn in outline and filled in with colour red, green and yellow.
