Siege of Troy. Book two: Helen eventually decides that she must follow the will of the gods and stops her lamenting. Paris leads Helen into Troy with great ceremony. Illustrated bas-de-page detail: the return of Paris to Troy with Helen, greeted by Priam. Also depicted is the marriage of Paris and Helen. There is a floriated, illuminated full border and an illuminated initial 'W' in the text. The illustration has been identified as being painted by an artist stylistically close to William Abell, an important mid-fifteenth English illuminator. The written space is 305 x 200 mm, 2 columns and 44 lines and the script is anglicana formata by two hands.
