man and abode þ(e) m(er)cy and þe wille of god // And þo .ij. pilg(ri)mes he lete bifore ham come and ȝaf ham riche ȝiftes and bitoke ham vnto god // And also. þe Abbot of Westmyn- stre he lete bifor him come and toke him þat ryng in ho- nour of god and sent marye and of sent Joh(a)n þe Eu(au)nglist and þe abbot nome it and pulte it among(es) oþ(er)e reliqes. so þat it is at Westmynstr(e) and eu(er)e shal be // And so lay þe king sike til þe .xije. even: and þo deide þe good king Edward at Westmynstr(e) and þ(er)e he lith. for whos loue god haþ done many myracles. and þis was in þ(e) ȝer of incarnaciou(~) of oure lord j(es)hu c(ri)st .ml. lxv ȝer. and aft(er) he was t(ra)nslated and pulte in to þe shryne þorugh þe noble [martir sent] Thom(a)s of Kaunt(er)bery.
