called þe white bataille // And þe forseide bere shal don þis goot muche harme and it shal ben out of þe south west and of his blood . þanne shal þe goot lese muche of his lande til at þe tyme þat shendshipe shal him ou(er)come and þanne shal he cloþen him in a leouns skyn and þanne shal he wynne þat he had lost and more þ(er)to //ffor a peple shal come out of þe Northwest þat shal make þe goot sore to ben adrad and he shal venge him of his enemys þorugh counceil of þo .ij. oweles þat ferst shulle ben in p(er)ile for to ben vndon . but þe olde owele shal wende ou(er) þe see in to a st(ra)unge land and þ(er) he shal duelle vnto a certein time and aft(er) he shal come aȝen in to þis lande // þese .ij. oweles shullen don gr(e)t harme to manyon and so þei shulle counceile þe goot þat he shal arere werre aȝens þe forsaide Bere and at þe laste þe goot and þe oweles shullen come(~) at Bure op Trent . and shullen wende ou(er) and for drede of þe bere shal fle & a swan with him fro his companye to Bur toward þe North and þ(er)e þey shullen ben wiþ an hard sho(ur) and þan(~)e þe swan shal be slayn with sorwe and þe bere taken and biheueded alþ(er) next his nest þat shal stande oppon a bro- ken brugg op wham þe sonne shal caste his bemes and meny shulleþ him seke for v(er)tue þat for him shal come. Jn þat same time shal dye for sorwe and care a peple of his lande so þat manye landes shulleth ben vppon hy(~) þe more boldere aftirward . and þo .ij. owel shulleþ do moche harme to þe forsaide flo(ur) of lif and hire shulle lede in distres- se . so þat she shal passe ou(er) in to ff(ra)unce for to make pees bituene þe goot and þe flour(e) delice and þere she shulle duelle til a time þat hire seed shal come to seche hire and þere þey shullen ben stille til a tyme þat þey shulle ham cloþe wiþ g(ra)ce . and þey shulle seche þe owles and shulle pulte ham to despitouse deth. // And aft(er) shal þis goot be brouȝt to disese and grete anguisshe and sorwe he shal leuen al his lyf.
