Note that a similar recipe is extant in Liber de diversis medicinis approx f 305v. The written space is c. 163 x 115 mm and the script is mainly secretary.

1. here will and þret men and mysseyn and misseyn hym but if 2. it be nat a verre ffransye and come nat but of som odir postom 3. of þ(e) stomake or of þ(e) brist or of þ(e) woman þ(e) postom of þ(e) skynne 4. þ(t) a j childe is conceyved jnne And þ(e) cause þ(er) of is ffor þ(e) colerik 5. mat(er) þ(t) shulde make þe vryne reed and shulde come dou(~)n wt 6. þ(e) uryne it passith into þ(e) heed and maketh a man ffrantik 7. and this sekenesse odir whiles is a sekenesse be hym self . 8. and oþ(er) whilis it folowith anoþ(er) sekenesse . If it is seke 9. nesse of hym self hit may þus be holpyn ffirst late 10. rubbe well and softly the soles of his ffete wt 11. vynegre and if he may nat well take a purgaciou(~) 12. of his heed make hy(m) a glistere in þis wise Take þ(e) 13. hokke and þ(e) holy hokke and þ(e) holy hokke flax se[n]e 14. fenel and salt and mercurye and seþe hem in watir 15.
