King William the Conqueror dies, and his son William II, Rufus (the red) becomes King. Red rubrication introduces each tale. There is some graffiti at the top of the page likely to be the same that appears on 37v, 'Noverint universi per presentes me Thomam Colpeper in comitatu Kancie Armiger teneri... Richardo Colpeper de Grays Inn...'. Written space is 235 x 190 mm, 2 columns with 34 lines. The script is in a secretary hand with some influence from anglicana.
