King Cadwalyn returns from Ireland and quells King Edwynne. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'W' introduce the tale of how King Oswolde reigns in Northumberland after Edwynne's death, and how King Cadwalyn and his brother-in-law Peanda drive Oswolde into Scotland and slay him. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

and caste adoun casteles an brente his maners and dep(ar)tede al Cadwalyn(es) londe amonges his frendes // And long tyme after come Cadwalayn aȝen fram Jrlonde with a stronge power and in playne bataile quelde Edwynne and alle his frendshipes and namely þo þat wiþhelde his landes þorugh Edwynes ȝefte. How king Oswolde was queld þorugh king Cadwalyn and Peanda and how Oswy þ(t) was sent Oswaldus broþ(er) regnede aft(er) him and quelde [...] Peada. Capo. centesimo p(ri)mo. Whanne þat Edwyn [...] was slayn. Offris his sone vndertooke þe werre aȝens Cadwalyn. his Em. so þat þis Offris. deide du- rynge þe werre. and after þe deth of Offris þo regnede a gentil cristene man þat muche louede god. þat hadde al þe lande of Northumb(er)lande by heritage þat me callede Oswolde: and he was king of al þat lande. but for as muche as he was frende to Edwyne and held a gret part of þe lande of Cadwalyn: þe same Cadwalyn werrede vp- on hym and drof him toward Scotland. and whanne. Cad walyn saugh þat he nolde nouȝt abide. Cadwalyn wol- de no lenger him pursue: but toke some of his folc to Peada his broþ(er) in lawe:- and p(ra)yde Peada to p(ur)sue Oswolde. til þat he were taken and slayn // And Cadwa lyn turnede þo hom aȝen // Whenne Oswolde herde þe ty- dinge þat Cadwalyn turnede home aȝen: he wolde no leng(er)e fle. but abode Peanda and ȝaf him bataile. and Peanda was descomfited and fley and come aȝen to Cadwalyn and saide þat he wolde neu(er)e holde o foote of londe of him: but ȝif it were so þat he wolde avenge him of Oswolde // Cadwalyn lete assemble a gret host for to fighte with Oswold so þat he and Peanda come vn to Northumb(er)land and ȝeuen bataile vnto Oswolde and in þat same bataile was Oswold slayne. and his hede smiten of and after he was entered at þe Abbay of Bar deneye in which place god haþ wrought for him many a
