Description:
Bound volume formerly in the possession of Charles Wesley and later presented to Richmond College by the Wesleyan minister Thomas Jackson. It consists of a number of published hymnals bound together as follows: Hymns for Times of Trouble and Persecution (1745); Hymns for Times of Trouble (n.d.); Funeral Hymns (n.d.); Hymns for the Nativity of our Lord (n.d.); Hymns for the Resurrection (1746); Hymns of Petition and Thanksgiving for the promise of the Father (1746); Hymns for Ascension Day (1746); Interleaved between the tracts are a number of manuscript hymns including "Hark how all the welkin rings" (Hark, the Herald Angels Sing).
