Waxed paper negative. A View of one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple stands on the western bank of the holy river Ganges. A Scottish-born doctor, Murray created large-format architectural studies and landscapes of northern India in the 1850s and early 1860s.
