Description:
|
Large map printed and published by Robert Laurie and James Whittle. Japan was mapped based on geographical information collected from Engelbert Kempfer and the Portuguese Jesuit missionaries, while they used Royaume de Corée by J.B.B. D’Anville, French geographer, to map Korea. In their Map of the Empire of Japan, they placed “COREAN SEA” in the middle of the East Sea.
