Description:
|
The new entrance wing is under construction on the Spinningfield elevation of the John Rylands Library, Deansgate, Manchester. This view is taken from the south tower on the Deansgate elevation. On the right, the transept of the 1890s building is shown covered in scaffolding and plastic sheeting. The entrance to Manchester City Magistrates Court and Coroners Court is visible in the background. On the left is the Manchester Evening News building. Construction and restoration work is being undertaken by Linford Building Ltd, successors to the firm who worked on the original Library building in the 1890s. Architect: Austin-Smith: Lord.
