Mason Paul McDermott repairs a damaged boss on the vaulted ceiling of the Reading Room in the John Rylands Library. The ceiling has recently vacuum cleaned to remove surface dirt. Construction and restoration work is being undertaken by Linford Building Ltd, successors to the firm who worked on the original Library building in the 1890s.
