Description:

Hand carved wooden calendar box with the initials HS. Each month comprises a card for each day with a motto. The cards are held in 12 exquisitely sewn silk envelopes with a red silk ribbon and secured with a ribbon. Box was created by Emily Simon for her husband Henry Simon (1835-1899) in about 1890.
