Description:

A preacher in a tub in a farm shed haranguing his audience to repentance. His hymnal is open on a page with an excerpt from Matthew 13. The audience is a mix of men, women and children. There are cattle and birds in the stalls behind.
John Collier was an English caricaturist and satirical poet known by the pseudonym of Tim Bobbin, or Timothy Bobbin. He styled himself as the Lancashire Hogarth.
