Description:
|
View of Mr Grundy's Cottage in Shell Cove suburb in the Shellharbour area, south of Wollongong, New South Wales. An identified female is seen standing on the porch, with an unidentified male sitting in a chair by the wall. Handwritten caption(s) in ink or pencil on the album page: 'Mr Grundy's cottage, Shell Cove near Sydney, bush in distance' | 'Fruit-bearing passion flower'. Grundy was a civil engineer from Manchester, not connected with the Mint, but already established in Sydney when Jevons arrived. Jevons had a reference of introduction to him from his father, a Unitarian connection.
