Description:
|
The labels books are a unique group of documents compiled by ICI (India) Ltd’s Dyes Department which include samples of the labels used to market dyestuffs on the India sub-continent in the 1920s and 1930s (the labels were attached to the packages of raw dyes). The labels are highly coloured (in part, to advertise the quality of the dyes), and show stylised scenes from Indian mythology, nature and everyday life.
