Persian prose translation of the Pahlavi original Ardā Vīrāf nāmak, the story of Viraf, a Parsee hermit, visiting the other world.It has been a popular work of which there is also a translation, into Persian, in verse and more than one translation into English (see Rieu, BM 47b-48a). There are also a number of critical modern translations, by Ghulam Reza Rashld-Yasarm (Tehran H.S. 1314/ A.D. 1935), Muhammad Mu‘In (Tehran H.S, 1325/ A.D. 1946) and Rahim ‘Afifi, including the Pahlavi text by Reza Navabpour (Mashhad H.S. 1342/ A.D. 1963).
