Description:
This 1824 edition of the Bible, published by Cadell & Davies, is a reissue of the 1800 illustrated Bible published by Thomas Macklin. For the new edition, several new headpiece and tailpiece vignettes were designed, and others were adapted. The tailpiece to 2 Peter, designed by John Landseer and engraved by James Heath in the 1824 edition was the headpiece to 2 Peter in the 1800 edition. It replaces a tailpiece by the same designer and engraver that appeared in the 1800 edition. Publication line: "Publish'd by T. Macklin. Fleet Street. Republish'd 1 Sep 1823 by T Cadell".
