Description:
|
This 1824 edition of the Bible, published by Cadell & Davies, is a reissue of the 1800 illustrated Bible published by Thomas Macklin. For the new edition, several new headpiece and tailpiece vignettes were designed, and others were adapted. The tailpiece to Zechariah, designed by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg and engraved by James Heath was a new design for the 1824 edition; there was no tailpiece to Zechariah in the 1800 edition.
