Full title: Findens` Tableaux. A series of thirteen scenes of national character, beauty, and costume. From paintings, by various artists, after sketches by W. Perring. Edited by Mrs S.C Hall. 58 pages bound in blind-stamped full green morocco leather, with stamped gilt lettering and elaborate ornamental designs in gold to the covers; to each cover there is a bright gilt vignette of a seated muse within a flowing gilt floral framework. This work consists of original tales in prose and poetry and illustrated with 13 monochrome engraved plates, designed to show the character and costume of 13 nations: - Naples. The Romance of Maddalena by Mrs S. C. Hall and a plate entitled "Festa of Madonna del Arco", engraved by W. Holl after T. Uwins, A.R.A.; - Albania. "The Love Letter" by Leigh Hunt and a plate with the same title engraved by W. Finden after F. Stone; - Switzerland. "Poor Josephine" by Mrs. S. C. Hall and a plate entitled "The Hospice of St. Bernard", engraved by W. Hollpar after F. Stone; - Poland. "Lament of the Polish Exile" by Allan Cunningham and a plate entitled "The Exiles", engraved by E. Finden after H. Corbould; - Spain, Madrid. "The Jilts Reward" by Mrs. S. C. Hall and a plate entitled "The Jilt", engraved by F. C. Lewis after W. Perring; - Arabia. "The Arab Maid" by L. E. L. and a plate with the same title engraved by E. Finden after F.
