Description:
|
Full-page miniature of the Dominical Feast days: Washing of the Feet. Christ, kneeling, but face fully turned outward, with a large halo in gold and red, has in his outstretched hand a red handkerchief. Peter is shown awkwardly balancing with both feet in the bowl, which is placed on a high pedestal; with one hand he is pointing to his head. The remaining 11 apostles are represented by three rows of heads with one row of two heads on the right of the picture. The background is architectural. All the apostles have haloes except Peter.
