Photographic portrait of Admiral Robert Fitzroy. Admiral Fitzroy was appointed to command the 'Beagle' from November 1828 till 1836. In 1837 the Royal Geographical Society honoured Robert Fitzroy with their Gold Medal, in acknowledgment of the results of the 'Beagle' voyages. Portrait is a mounted albumen print.
